Baby Preparation Party
On Saturday evening, October 18th, the Harris, Eastman and Browning families hosted the best baby preparation party one could ever want. Jason and I agreed that it was by far the best celebration we've had next to our wedding day.
We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful family and know how lucky we are to have met such a great group of friends. Jason and I are thrilled to know that our daughter (who will be here in about 3 weeks!) will grow up surrounded by such people. Thanks so much for everything! We love each and every one of you!

Window Treatments
This was my very first attempt at sewing panels, but I'm happy to say that I finished them for Finn's nursery. I didn't have enough fabric, but did the best I could with the material we did have. Jason and I saw the fabric and instantly knew it would be perfect for her room. Hope she likes it as much as we do!

Successful 3D/4D Ultrasound Session

Our 3D/4D Ultrasound Session
Jason and I went to have our 3D/4D Ultrasound session yesterday evening and sadly left with no pictures or DVD. Finley decided that she would face my back the entire 35 minutes. The U/S tech could only take 10 pictures, primarily of her feet and hands. Most clients get 18-30 pics. We are going to try again on Sunday in hopes that she will be a little more cooperative. Keep your fingers crossed for us!!!

Nursery as of today...
Finn's nursery is coming along...slowly...but surely. We painted and hung her mirror last night above the dresser/changing table. This mirror belonged to Finley's great great grandmother.
We're also leaning towards a pink and green color scheme in her nursery. Not sure exactly how we will incorporate these colors just yet... Once the chair delivers and we get the bedding, it should be easier to coordinate everything.
As of right now...we are in search of ceiling medallions to hang on the wall above her crib. We'll see how that goes as I am forever changing ideas. Indecisiveness is not a "good thing".

Baby Gender Celebration Dinner
Last evening, our neighbors Kerri and Traye hosted a Baby Gender Celebration Dinner for us. We had the most FABULOUS time and feel extremely lucky to have such wonderful friends and neighbors in our lives. I had to post a photo of Finley's beautifully monogrammed cake so that she can appreciate it when she's older.
Thanks Kerri and Traye for hosting such a fantastic dinner party. To everyone who attended...thanks for coming to celebrate with us. Much Love + Hugs!!!

The Registry
I have to admit...Babies R Us has always been a bit intimidating to me. So intimidating in fact, that I would try to avoid it at ALL cost. When it came to buying for baby showers, clicking and shipping or "how much do I need to give you" was the way for me! Needless to say...registering was not something I was looking forward to.
Fortunately for me, I had two wonderful girlfriends (Kerri and Melissa) who took time out of their Saturday mornings (7.12.2008) to go with me. They were absolutely amazing! Walking me up and down each aisle with their advice and motherly expertise. Thanks to these girls...my registering experience at Babies R Us was a pleasant one. I would highly suggest taking someone with you when you go to register!!!
Thanks Kerri + Melissa!!! Finley is going to be one happy lil' bambino!! Love + Hugs!

Choosing Color for Finley's Nursery
J and I are currently in the process of choosing a color to paint Finley's nursery. I just finished taping all the paint swatches on the wall so that we can narrow down our choices.
As for furniture, we have decided to go with white. Crown molding and a crystal chandelier might also be added to the room. That's about all we have so far... We'll keep you posted!!
July 14, 2008 - I think we have a color! Chocolate Froth by Behr. I absolutely love it!! It's a velvety neutral color that will go well with all her "yummy" pastels. The "yummy" look has been inspired by our wedding cake, cupcakes, petit fours and Parisian macarons (who would imagine me being inspired by food?).
J and I are going to the Mart tomorrow morning to check out the children's floor. Keeping our fingers crossed that we find cute furniture and bedding....

My First Photo Shoot
I had my first photos taken this morning at 10:30 am...Monday, June 30, 2008. I was so cooperative with the Ultrasound Technician who was taking my measurements (already have great manners!). When it was mommy and daddy's turn to watch me on the monitor, I got so excited and started to move my arms and legs all over the place. After my few minutes of excitement, I had to take a quick snooze. The U/S tech poked me a few times to wake me back up so that she could tell mommy and daddy that I was a little girl. Mommy cried.
As of today...I'm officially19 weeks and 3 days, but my size measures at 20 weeks and 4 days. I'm healthy and growing each day!
Can't wait to meet everyone in November!
